Hope blooms in the desert. We often think of the virtue of Hope with the Advent season, and surely God’s promise of a Messiah make Advent the birthplace of Hope. But the Christian virtue of Hope is much more than the anticipation of a desired outcome.
Christian Hope is a certainty in regard to God’s promises, even when the how and why are murky. Jesus’ faithfulness and virtue during 40 days in the desert makes Hope blossom for us. He is unwavering; He will not be tempted; He will not be distracted from the Will of the Father, and so our Hope grows. Our own virtue in the desert times of our lives can be a blooming of Hope for us and for those around us. This Lent, let’s Hope, let’s bloom.

Many people view the Eucharist as something entirely centered in the New Testament. The reality is that God has been preparing our hearts and minds for the way in which He would become ‘Emmanuel, God with us’ since the time of Abraham. Dr. Brant Pitre’s Book “Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist” opens our eyes to this reality. Gary Fritsch will present key themes from this important work that will deepen our understanding of all that God has been doing for us since the beginning of time.
Jesus awaits us in this sacrament of love. Sign up to cover an hour or stop in when you can.
Taize with Adoration is a simple, and meditative form of prayer, calling us to dwell on Christ's presence in the Eucharist while singing short refrains and hearing scripture. This time of quiet reflection will help prepare your heart for Easter.
