Our mission trip to Appalachia this year was a whirlwind of service, fellowship, and making a real difference in the lives of others. From June 9th to 15th, a group of 56 parishioners, including 35 teens and young adults, ventured to West Virginia to lend a helping hand.
We partnered with the Catholic Church of Preston County (CCOPC) to tackle critical home repairs for eight families in need. Over the course of the week, we tackled a variety of projects:
Our goal was simple - to provide safe, dry, and warm housing for residents who lacked the resources to make these repairs themselves, and to draw closer to the Lord in our journey and in prayer for those needs that we could not meet ourselves.
Witnessing the gratitude and resilience of the families we helped was incredibly humbling. The camaraderie and teamwork among our mission trip group was truly inspiring. We saw young and old working side-by-side, developing new skills, and forging lasting bonds.
This trip was more than just home repair; it was about building hope, fostering connections, and living out our faith in action.
